A Two Day National Level Conference on English Language and Literature: Across Cultures


Theme of the Conference

The Conference highlights the importance of a language - centred appreciation of literature. It is predominantly orientated towards new perceptions of learning.  The thrust areas:
• Evolving theoretical stand-points in l i terature and language.
• Comprehensive analysis of literature and language in all its multiculturality.
• The importance of language in the analysis of literature.
• The influence of MNCs on English Language and literature.
• Evolving new focus in English Language and literature research
• A diagnosis of new, changing pedagogical stand point.
• Scrutiny of literatures across cultures
• The investigation of the impact of the MNCs on Indian creative writing
• Literature as the multicultural mosaic.
• Text in context(ual), Colonial, Postcolonial and feminist paradigms.
• Cultural anarchy and ethical (im)balance as seen in literatures across cultures.
• Translation Studies.

Guidelines for Paper Submission
Original contribution, including on-going/completed / unpublished research work, highlighting the above mentioned thrust areas are invited.  An abstract of about 250-300 words typed in a single column with double spacing (Font : Times New Roman with 12pt.size), should be sent to The Convener, through conference@tjells.com. Each participant may send only one abstract. Please note that each paper can have only one author.

Important Dates

Submission of abstract       : 28.02.2012
Intimation of acceptance    : 06.03.2012
Submission of Paper          : 20.03.2012
Last date for Registration  : 28.03.2012
The paper should be between 2000 and 3000 words and should adhere to the latest MLA style sheet/APA guidelines.

Participation alone Rs.400
Paper Presentation Rs.600
Paper Publication Rs.1200
(Papers are published in Volume(s) with ISBN / ISSN No.)
The Registration Fee may be in the form of a DD drawn in favour of the Department of English St. John's College payable at Palayamkottai and sent to the Co-ordinator, on or before 28.3.2012.
