OBJECTIVE OF THE SEMINAR

Indian  literature witnessed renaissance in 1980s and 90s. If Rushdie has enlightened Indian writing from shackles of colonial limitations, Arundhati Roy"s book "The God of Small Things" drastically changed insight concerning Indian authors with her viable victory. Indian writing in English has come of age creatively and critically in the 21st across the globe.  The main objective of this National Seminar is to expose faculty members/students and English fraternity to the emerging trends and  recent developments in Indian writing English in the wake globalization and during the first decade of the 21st new century, Indian writers  have  become bolder and stronger in expressing their  creative imagination. Globalization, Ecocriticism, Feminism and Cultural Studies influenced IWE.

The broad areas to be discussed are:

1. Indian Writing in English
2. Literature of the Indian Diaspora
3. Indian Literature/Telugu Literature in Translation
4. Indian literature and environment
5. Indian subaltern literatures

Please send a 300 word abstract along with a brief bio-note with subject – NSIWE 2013 to

nsiwe2013@gmail.com in MS-WORD doc by  12th July 2013.  Registration Form and DD drawn in favour of PRINCIPAL, SDMSMK’ payable at SYNDICATE BANK, VIJAYAWADA, may be addressed to :
