Call for Research Papers
Main Theme: New Literatures in
English
There was a timewhen
English literature was confined to British literature alone. Gradually, it was
extended to literatures written in English in countries like America,
Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Thanks to globalization of English, the
boundary of literature written in English crossed more continents and countries
and it was given the name of New Literatures in English. In addition to above
countries, literatures written in English language in India, Bangladesh,
Pakistan, Nigeria, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Caribbean countries are
incorporated under one umbrella term. The unique quality of this literature is
common language (English) but different literatures, coloured by different
society and culture. The authenticity of New Literatures in English is
validated by many Nobel, Booker, and Commonwealth prizes won by the writers of
this literature. The 59th All India English Teachers Conference,
therefore, focuses on World/ New Literatures in English to vindicate the
cosmopolitan core of literature.
